For the past few months I've pondered what topic I should write about for my Mass Media class, (for those of you who don't know that's the class where I get to choose a topic and do a project, while setting my own work schedule- big change for a structured Catholic school girl). Originally, I wanted to write a newspaper article or a research paper, but it was strongly suggested by my teacher that I incorporate technology into my project, instead of just writing something I could do in an English class. At first I was adverse to the idea, I didn't want to stray from my pretty AP English bubble and use *gasp* technology. I loathe technology; let me write and old fashioned pen and paper essay any day. But I couldn't afford to drag down my GPA in a level II class, not when I was so close to graduation and I had college scholarships riding on my GPA. Ultimately I decided to compromise and write my report while using the horrid computers. What oh what could I do? I finally decided to create a blog. I had already had a blog set up, against my will, for my AP Lit course (we got a crazy new AP Lit teacher this year who has dared to attempt the unthinkable - bring our class into the 21st century). So, I decided to set up another one for Mass Media and write my report in blog form.
Well, class is almost over so I will continue this later (possibly next week; I figure from now until May, a blog a week will be sufficient to explicate my theme).
Au revoir!
